This is a Barabaig woman from the region of Lake Manyara, Tanzania, Her 100 Mile Smile was so radiant and unwavering that the Stephen was compelled to paint her. She was part of a group of ladies who were singing and dancing very confidently and this proved to be a memorable experience for the artist. Stephen considers this to be one of his most successful expressions of personality through the use of color.
