In a small bush settlement, outside Tsumkwe, Bennett met Gag’o# Oma, the star of the 80’s film, “The Gods must be Crazy.” This movie introduced the San people to the western world, and its audience was widespread. Despite the fame and money earned from his success, this San bushman is said to have returned to his family and continued his life as before.
Bennett says his meeting with Gag’o# Oma was memorable. He describes him as a friendly character whose ‘typical’ appearance does not conceal the feeling you get when you meet him; that is that he is a very special person.
